“Follow Me”

Matthew 16: 24   “Follow me.” Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” What do you think of when you hear the "Follow me" of the Bible? Having looked up 30 verses concerning following Jesus, I discovered the term “follow me”, usually was preceded by leaving something first. Leave the dead, let the dead bury the dead…follow me Leave the shore, follow Him into the boat Left their nets, and followed Him Leave the family, don’t even say goodbye Deny yourself, take up the cross and follow Jesus Sell all you posses and ...

Years Ago

Years ago, I was speaking at a women's retreat.  I asked the audience of about 250 to write their favorite verse on an index card.  I then collected them and prepared a large space to lay them out and see all the verses. I didn't need much space.  About 70 percent were all the same verse.  It is found in the context of Hebrews 13: 1- 6 The Message "Stay on good terms with each other, held together by love. Be ready with a meal or a bed when it's needed.  Why, some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it!  Regard prisoners as if you were in prison with them.  Look on victims of abuse as if what happened to them ...

For Women and Girls Only

For Older Women (Every woman is older than someone) Who am I?  How would you answer that question? Who am I?  I am Sandy, woman, created in the image of God. How then shall I live?  There is so much confusion in this generation about a woman’s purpose that I beg you not to stop reading as I mention what God's words in Titus 2: 3 -5 say.  The Lord elevates a role for women that is as important today as it was when it was written.  She is to be a teacher of good things.  Her emphasis is loving relationships and strength of character. "Older women, likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved to ...

The Journey Continues – Austria

My Journey Continues Payerbacherhof, NO 29. Mi-1. Juni 2014 Don’t be discouraged; the rest of this entry will be in English.  This title represents the 4-day Journey experience Tracy Johnson and I had in Austria.  We had the privilege of leading 8 German-speaking women (3 spoke English) through book 2 of The Journey Continues.  It was a challenging and rewarding time as Tracy and I navigated our way through the lessons via translators.  Neither Tracy nor I speak German, but I guarantee we picked up some key phrases and words as we navigated our way through. I want to share with you some of what we experienced and what we learned in the ...

What Do You Want Me To Do For You?

Read Luke 18: 35 - 43 And it came about that as He was approaching Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting by the road, begging.  Now hearing a multitude going by, he began to inquire what that might be.  And they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.  And he called out, saying, "Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me! And those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"  And Jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to Him; and when he had come near, He questioned him "What do you want me to do for you?"  And he said, "Lord, I want to regain my ...

OHM Is In Austria!

Six years ago the dream of returning to Austria to bring The Journey Continues began. It has been slowly nurtured since then through another visit, many emails and phone calls and much prayer.  Today the dream came true as 10 women gathered together to trace their body outlines and begin their group.  What a sweet joy to have Mary Jane here, she came the first time OHM brought The Journey to Europe, in 1989.  She is legendary here with quotes of her words being spoken often. Along with the women there is the first ever "Mannetag" with 15 men gathering for teaching and small group with Mark and John.  They began last night and will conclude with ...
